I sold this piece to a wonderful man the other night. I had stopped by for a glass of wine with a friend and the lovely sommelier mentioned that there was someone that liked a few of my pieces and may be interested in purchasing one. She introduced us and I was able to do a little bit of a walk through as well as describe the process a little.
I appreciated that he liked the variety I had in my work. I had to confess that yes, I am a little all over the place but that’s because I like to experiment. You never really know where something may lead and a lot of the mediums that I thought I would hate, I ended up loving.
The cherry blossoms, I explained, are my relaxing paintings. They are kind of like my doodles, along with a lot of the mountain pieces. I generally choose to create black tree trunks and branches vs. brown because I like the contrast when I do the gradients in the background. The blossoms / dots are so relaxing for me. Have you ever done stipple art? Doodled by just doing a bunch of dots? Well, I love that and this way I can do it while creating a new work. I’ll have to find a picture of a rose that I did once – pen and all dots.
I am so thankful for all of the wonderful feedback and am excited to continue this adventure.
