Thank you to everyone that came out to support Art Baesl. It was a fantastic turnout and I was able to show alongside such talented women. Jess did a wonderful job curating the event and the DJ kept us dancing the entire time.
I have to say that each and every one of these events means a lot to me. It takes a lot to be vulnerable and open up your work and a piece of yourself to others. They are each a little stressful in their own way and with each passing show, I see those that truly are always there to support me along the way. Meltdowns and all lol.
I want each piece to create some type of emotional reaction in the viewer and I was grateful that I got to see that a lot of that first hand during this show as many people come up to me and share their experience and thoughts. My favorite part was watching one young man walk up to one of my paintings 6 or 7 times and then video taping it from different angles. I was thankful that I had the chance to talk to him a bit as I was taking the pieces down. He said that he was looking for the artist.
If I can continue to do one thing throughout this process it is to inspire others somehow. I know at least a couple people that were able to walk away with a renewed enthusiasm for art. That's a successful show for me.
